July 28, 2018 Seoul, South Korea
Winter has come and so it goes. After the cold and pale season of the year, the flowers will bloom and the spring season is here. The bright, colorful, and stunning ambiance it gives surely takes our hearts, no wonder it is the most sought-after season of the year. That's why many people are searching for the best spring destinations in Seoul.
I'm so glad that my dream trip has come true. I made sure that when I travel to Seoul, it should be a full bloom spring for me to see the gorgeous pink sakura and there I was, delighted and in awe of its beauty.
In this post, you'll find out the best spring destinations in Seoul and the best date to experience it.
Let's start with the dates.
When: April 4-11, 2018
From my extensive (wow) research, the forecast said the cherry blossoms in Seoul will start to bloom between April 2-10. What I did here was to choose the safest travel dates (April 4-11) that will cover the whole spring season. My advice to you is to keep an eye to the season's forecast. Also, since I'm pretty sure you're almost always on social media, why not use it for the benefit of your travel experience, so look for Koreans online or join a travelers' group and ask them. This is not creepy, okay? I did this and look where it got me. Also, the Koreans I met told me that cherry blossoms don't stay long. Usually, it only takes about three (3) days for you to experience a full bloom spring.
Where: I've got 3 places to recommend
Seokchon Lake
According to a Korean organization, Seockhon Lake boasts approximately 1,000 mesmerizing cherry blossom trees lined up like a tunnel of flowers, creating a fascinating scene in spring. So imagine how much blooms will surround you. It's also located near Lotte World. The place is a bit far from the city but let me tell you, the long commute is so worth it. Exaggerated as I could be but the place is beyond beautiful. It's mesmerizing! It will not be my favorite spot for nothing.
Seoul Forest
This place is such a treasure, too! The cherry blossom trees are perfectly lined up like they're the real-life umbrellas in every corner. However, the place is kind of crowded because it's like a popular hangout place for the youngsters. If I'm not mistaken, there are nearby schools in the area that's why it's mostly occupied by students.
Yeouido Hangang Park
Finally, the park that also caught my heart! Yeouido is such a great place to take photoshoots with cherry blossoms in the background. This is the best place to bask in the city's most beautiful blooms. Also, it's a peaceful and romantic place to spend time with your friends or loved ones. I'm not overreacting here but I really fell in love with the place, ambiance, atmosphere, everything about this park is worth exploring. Yeouido is definitely one of the best spring destinations in Seoul.
When are you planning to travel to Seoul? :)
May 19, 2018 Seoul, South Korea
It was a sunny day when I visited Seoul Forest. However, though the sun is up, I couldn't feel it because of the cool breeze touching my skin. For someone who lives in a tropical country, 6°C is already chilly. But heck do I care no more 'cause the skies are clear and the blooms are nothing but beautiful.

May 5, 2018 Seoul, South Korea
If there's one place in Korea that I'd never get tired of going to, it's Seokchon lake. If you're coming from the city proper like Myeongdong or Dongdaemun, you'd have to take a long commute but, it's so worth it.
Let me tell you about the day we went to Seokchon lake. It wasn't actually the original plan that day because what's in our agenda was to go to Jinhae Cherry Blossoms Festival but our unmindful selves thought we're scheduled to tour at Nami Island and should assemble at the meeting place by 6am. We arrived on time for the Nami tour but, one hour late on the supposed original tour of the day, thus, we missed it.
