"I envy those who have a perfect coca cola bottle-like body because they can wear swimsuits whenever they want to. While here I am, just sitting at the other side of the beach watching them in my rash guard."
A few years ago, I received that message on Instagram. A reader replied that to one of my photos where I was wearing a one-piece swimsuit. I felt really bad after reading this because I feel like social media has set the standards of beauty when in fact, not all we see in the Internet is real.
"I wish I had the same body as yours so I'd be confident in wearing swimsuits. I don't have stretch marks but I have a lot of fats in my body! Lol. Enough reason to not wear a bikini," she adds.
To be honest with you guys, I don't have the perfect body and there are days that I really wish I have Kelsey Merritt's figure because who doesn't want to have a Victoria's Secret Angel-like body, right?
But really, what's a "perfect" figure? A size 0 or a waistline of 24? Who said that anyway? So what if you have tiger stripes on your butt? Or flat chest and bloated tummy? Just because you have these doesn't mean you shouldn't wear swimsuits.
If you're someone who's not comfortable with your body shape, this swimsuit guide is for you! I've rounded up a few tips on how to look good on swimwear even without burning calories:
1. Fall in love with your swimsuit
First things first, apply the general rule when shopping: don't buy it just because it's on sale. Buy it because you feel good in it. Don't easily fall on the hard selling skills of a saleslady. Don't buy it just because it’s the hottest style right now. Get it because you feel good in it. You can’t expect to feel confident in a swimsuit if you don’t love what you’re wearing.
2. Accessorize
After picking your swimsuit, choose accessories or clothing pieces that match perfectly together. You can get a huge belt to hide your tummy. A scarf to hide your arms. Or a cover up if you're too shy to show some skin. Know the basic fashion and make the beach your runway.
3. Don't burn calories. Burn your negative thoughts!
Although it helps to burn calories as part of your healthy lifestyle, some of us are just too lazy to get up. So, what else can you do? Just don't think of negative things.
Life's too short to worry about what other people think.
You see, people will always have something to say about you so might as well enjoy the rest of your life without caring about their opinion.
So to all the girls who think swimsuits are just for a 26-24-26 figure, I say you don't have to lose weight to wear a bikini, okay?
Any body is a "beach body"
Anyone can be in a swimsuit and enjoy themselves at the beach, pool or even just in their rooms. Don't you just want to enjoy life freely? If you keep thinking about what others would say about you, you might one day wake up feeling terrible for not making the most of your vacation because you thought you have thick thighs and bloated tummy.
Sure the idea of wearing a swimsuit is really daunting especially if you lack the nerves but with the right amount of self-confidence and self-love, everything will be alright and you'll be surprised at how things might end. Just do it, girl.

Why would you settle for a basic cover-up when you can pull-off a whole tropical aesthetic look? Trust me, there are so many beach outfit ideas that go far beyond swimsuits and sunnies! So if you're looking for a little something more, then this beach outfit inspiration is for you! World, meet the perfect breezy maxi dress perfect for the beach! Wearing maxi dress at the beach could save your comfort and beach fashion life!
Another thing I love about beach maxi dress is that, it is perfect for any summer occasion. All I need is to just add a good pair of slides then I'm all set.
One con that I experienced wearing maxi dress at the beach is that, I need to pull it up or hold it when I need to pass through the water because I don't want it to get wet. This won't be an issue to people who don't mind. But overall, a beach maxi dress is the perfect beach outfit!
What's your favorite beach outfit? :)

The cold season is still upon us, here in the Philippines at least, but it's always summer somewhere, right? Whether you're able to visit the beach once a year or once a week, you're about to come across the same conundrum— what to wear to the beach? Because other than the cute and chic swimsuits, we run out of beach outfit ideas.
Sure, nothing beats the bikinis and sunnies while sitting on the sand, but sometimes, you’re in need of something a little more. For times when you’re unsure of what to wear to the beach, it’s always best to turn to Google for answers, hence the pool of beach outfit ideas from the experts a.k.a. the bloggers.
However, most often than not, you'll get the same answer. So to help you slay your beach fashion, I'll give you a unique beach outfit idea that will totally make you stand out.
Put your maxi dresses on a rest for now and go for a boho outfit for the beach by wearing coordinates. Here, I wore an olive green coordinates from a local online shop. I like how the cropped top could also double as a bikini top and pairing it with a flowy midi skirt. It's very comfortable and breezy when worn, just perfect for the beach.
I also accessorized my clothes with the half moon layered necklace to achieve the boho outfit for the beach.
And to store all my things, I used my handmade macramé bag that I did on my own.

Before anything else, I'd like you to know that this is long and very personal so I don't expect you to read the whole post but it would really mean a lot to me if you'll stick with me 'til the end.
Late last year, I made a huge decision which led me to where I am today—almost quarter life crisis. Yikes. I didn't regret it though I had a lot of what-ifs: what if I did not quit? What if I choose the other one? What if I didn't aspire to be part of something great? Or what I thought was something great. Would it all make a difference?
I called myself a fool for trying so hard to be what I want to be and fail at it. I put myself down because I thought, I wasn't good enough. My fear came back. My fear of taking chances, taking risks and taking every possibility in the world to make my dream come true. I blamed other people for that mistake. I was so in denial. And the most painful part of the situation is knowing that I had no one to blame but myself because it was my choice. I chose to be there. I chose to do that. It's all me.
And that didn't stop there. Instead of getting back to my usual grind, I STOPPED CREATING. I just focused on my job. It was okay and involves everyday adrenaline, but I got so comfortable that I didn't bother to read anything, write on my blog and even reply to emails that could possibly lead to great opportunities (I'm really sorry for that). I was a rebel against myself and it's really frustrating the hell out of me.
And whenever I try to get back to my usual grind and do the things I really like, something slaps me to stay away from them. No matter how hard I try to stand up, something is pulling me down. Then one sunny afternoon, I read a newsletter from my email. It says all the things I was feeling since my project went down. It hits me so hard that it made me want to do crazy stuff again.
But you know what, in spite of all the things that happened, I know it was worth the risk. Because that's what I wanted. The project was gone in a flash but I quite found myself. I fell but I stood. I was hurt but now stronger. Getting back up for me was hard, though I'm still at a recovery point, I'm on my way back to where and who I was before this downfall came.
You see, if you're stuck in a situation where you think it's the end, well it's not.
There are people who are willing to help you, even unintentionally like what happened to me, thanks to that newsletter and the person who wrote it, and there are things around you that could get your feet kicking again. You just have to stay focus because most of the time, it's the little things that help us big time!
If you're going through something, do not hesitate to share them in the comments box below or send me an email, let's talk. Or if you don't want to talk, let me just listen. I could be your online friend. I could be your online sister. Promise, I'll reply to you if you want me to :)
And now let's talk about my outfit here. I've always loved the thought of wearing maxi dresses because they look so comfortable and classy. Mine was everything I have imagined it to be. This dress basically caught me because it's very girly and summery. I now have a go-to summer look. What's yours? :)
